EARTH DAY CELEBRATION TO PROMOTE
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PRACTICES

Oxnard’s Earth Day celebration seeks to inspire the community to think about the earth’s natural resources, and encourage them to do what they can to protect these resources. “We want people to understand that every individual action, no matter how small, has an accumulative impact on our environment,” said Trish Honigsberg, Recycling Specialist at the City of Oxnard.

For businesses, environmental stewardship is not only the responsible thing to do – it can also be very attractive. “Businesses can improve their operational profile and work practices, and save money, through waste minimization, energy efficiency, and much more,” said Honigsberg. “Many local businesses understand the environmental and social benefits. It’s just plain good business!”

To learn more about water conservation, reducing waste, purchasing recycled products, “Closing the Loop,” implementing pollution prevention strategies, hazardous waste management processes, and much more, join the City of Oxnard’s Earth Day festivities.
